What it means for Carlton: After two understandable defeats to West Coast and Richmond over the last fortnight, it's time for Carlton to get back to winning ways. David Teague's chances of getting the job permanently could rely on a positive result in the last two weeks.
What it means for St Kilda: A victory over Fremantle kept its slim, slim finals hopes alive. It's incredibly unlikely, but it means St Kilda will have something to play for on Saturday. Having won three of four games under Brett Ratten, the Saints will fancy their chances.
The stat: Carlton hasn't beaten St Kilda at the MCG since 1998.
The match-up: Patrick Cripps v Jack Steele
St Kilda has opted to pair a big body alongside Cripps recently and could do similar with Steele again on Saturday. Both are contested players who will tackle relentlessly. Cripps is obviously one of Carlton's most important midfielders, so stopping him will be crucial.
It's a big week for: David Teague and Brett Ratten
This will be an important match for the two caretaker coaches. Teague is 5-4 since taking over at the Blues, but will be desperate to secure at least one more victory to ensure the best possible chance he gets the gig full-time. Ratten is 3-1 and will be hoping to keep the Saints in the finals race going into the final week of the season.
Big call: Levi Casboult goals after the siren to become a Carlton hero.
Prediction: Carlton by three points
