It was back to the grind of pre-season training for the Kangaroos this morning less than a week after the Eagles held the premiership cup aloft at the MCG,The Roos returned to training with a 3.2km time-trial around Princess Park under the watchful eye of coach Dean Laidley.Laidley said the early return to training was designed to ensure the players were in peak physical fitness for the official start of pre-season on October 16."When you finish 14th, you need to make sacrifices like this as you look to improve," Laidley said.“By getting the boys back today it enables us to maintain their level of fitness so we have a better fitness base to start with for the build-up of our pre-Christmas training.”In a positive sign for the club captain Adam Simpson, Shannon Grant and Daniel Pratt – who all ended the 2006 season because of injury - completed the time-trial.Laidley also said that the Roos were unlikely to be a major player in the coming trade week.
