Jess Sinclair is free to play this weekend, after successfully challenging a rough conduct charge at the tribunal on Tuesday night.

The tribunal found the Kangaroos midfielder had no case to answer for his bump on Collingwood's Ryan Lonie.

Adelaide’s Nathan Bassett was also cleared after his clash with Essendon's Leroy Jetta.

Video footage showed Sinclair was airborne at the time he bumped into Lonie, who lay on the ground motionless for several seconds after the clash at half-forward.

A Collingwood medical report indicated Lonie was "briefly stunned" after the impact, but importantly also said there was "no evidence of actual head contact" and the Magpie suffered bruising to his right shoulder.

Lonie was called as a witness by the Kangaroos and said he felt no contact to his head and described Sinclair's actions as a legitimate bump.

Sinclair said in his evidence he "didn't touch (Lonie's) head".

Also giving evidence in support of Sinclair was field umpire Stuart Wenn, the man who awarded the controversial 50m penalty late in the match against the Collingwood on Saturday.

Wenn told the tribunal he had a clear, uninterrupted view of the incident and deemed it to be a shoulder-to-shoulder bump and unworthy of a report.

While not considered admissible evidence by chairman David Jones, player advocate Iain Findlay, who represented both players, said during Sinclair's case Collingwood had rung the Kangaroos offering to have Lonie appear before the tribunal.
