Former Essendon high-flyer Gary Moorcroft has made a habit of soaring into orbit and pulling down some absolute hangers during his football journey.
The most famous of all was his Mark of the Year winner back in 2001, when he memorably stood atop Bulldog legend Brad Johnson.
However, the now 37-year-old took a similar grab playing for Bundoora in the club's famous Northern Football League Grand Final win over Montmorency at Preston City Oval on Saturday.
"To tell you the truth I can't remember much about Saturday's mark – I smashed my head on the ground and blacked out for a little bit," Moorcroft told AFL.com.au.
Having now watched the replay, which has been on repeat in Bundoora's club rooms as the club celebrates its premiership win, Moorcroft said they were remarkably similar.
"I was a bit higher with the Bulldogs one, but the hang-time was a little bit better in the one on Saturday," he said.
Aside from the special mark, Moorcroft sparked his side to a stunning come-from-behind 29-point win with a game-high six goals.
The Bulls kicked the final 11 goals of the contest and in doing so erased a 47-point third-quarter deficit.
Moorcroft's third-quarter mark was one of the catalysts in the phenomenal fight-back.
"In terms of that it's probably one of the best wins I've been involved in," he said.
"With my age I can still jump which is a good thing – when that goes I think my career's gone," he said.
