FINALS ticket prices, including this year's Grand Final, will remain unchanged in 2014, the League has announced.

It is the first time in nearly 20 years that prices have not increased for the AFL's showpiece game.

AFL CEO Gillon McLachlan said the decision was made with the view of the fans in mind.

"We have listened to the concerns of football fans this year around affordability, scheduling and ticketing, and this is the first step in demonstrating the AFL’s resolve to address those concerns," he said.

"The finals are the pinnacle of the AFL season, and include some of the biggest events on the Australian sporting calendar, and we want fans to be part of the action this September."

As was the case last year, entry level seating prices in weeks one and two of the finals have remained unchanged. For example, the entry level price at the MCG during the first week of finals will remain at $40.

A family ticket (two adults and two children) at the same venue will cost $80, while top tier seating prices are listed at $85.

Week-three seating prices start from $68, while the top tier price remains at $170 across all venues.

Grand Final tickets will start from $180 for adults and $153 for concession holders. Top tier seats will stay at $399 for adults and $339 for concession holders.

Meanwhile, club members who purchase a ticket to see their club play in week one of the finals will again be offered a 20 per cent discount to purchase a ticket the following week if their team is competing.

AFL commercial operations manager Darren Birch said keeping prices at 2013 levels was a logical decision to ensure more football fans will have the opportunity to see live games.

"Through a number of key changes over the past three seasons, including returning 5000 Grand Final tickets to fans of the competing clubs and opening up more pricing options across the month of September, we’ve ensured that more fans can experience the excitement of finals football live," Birch said.
