ST KILDA coach Ross Lyon has made good on his promise to shake up the under-performing Saints with Nick Dal Santo and Stephen Milne two high-profile casualties from last week’s loss to the Sydney Swans.

Lyon has made his intentions for the rest of the season clear with three players - Robert Eddy, Ben McEvoy and Jarryd Allen – all making their debuts against Fremantle at Telstra Dome on Friday night.

Second-year player David Armitage also earns a recall, but Michael Gardiner and Adam Schneider will miss through injury.

Dal Santo has been named as an emergency along with Shane Birss and Brad Howard.

Fremantle has the luxury of naming an unchanged line-up following last week’s impressive win over the Kangaroos.

Steven Dodd, Clayton Hinkley and Brock O’Brien are the emergencies.

Hawthorn will regain defender Brent Guerra for its highly-anticipated stoush with North Melbourne at the MCG on Saturday.

Guerra has not played since injuring his hamstring against Port Adelaide in round eight but he has been named in a back pocket as his team prepares for what shapes as a heated clash with the Kangaroos.

However while the Hawks regain one important cog for the round 13 match, they lose another to the hammy curse with hard-running ball magnet Chance Bateman to miss due to the complaint.

North Melbourne coach Dean Laidley has reacted savagely to the heavy loss to Fremantle with four players - Scott Thompson, Leigh Brown, Josh Smith and Ben Davies - all omitted from the side.

Injured pair Hamish McIntosh and Sam Power also depart the team which has been significantly boosted by the returns of Nathan Thompson, Shannon Grant, Shannon Watt and Corey Jones.

Key-position prospect Lachlen Hansen will play his first game of the season after throwing off persistent injuries and fellow youngster Alan Obst has also earned a call-up.

Port Adelaide forward Justin Westhoff has been dropped for the first time in his career as Power coach Mark Williams made two changes to his side in the wake of its 59-point drubbing at the hands of Geelong.

Westhoff, who burst onto the AFL scene last year and impressed throughout his debut season, has played 28 consecutive matches but has only managed eight goals from 12 games in 2008.

Williams has lost patience with his young forward and defender Jacob Surjan.

However there is good news at Alberton with goalkicker Brett Ebert set to return from his ankle injury, while Matt Thomas has also been recalled for Saturday’s clash with the Tigers at AAMI Stadium.

Richmond has made two changes to the side that defeated Melbourne by 22 points last Sunday.

Coach Terry Wallace is continuing to recall the youngsters, bringing in young forward Cleve Hughes and Dean Polo for his side’s crunch match with the Power.

The Tigers lose Daniel Jackson with a leg injury while Jay Schulz has been omitted.

Young Tasmanian Tom Collier will make his debut for the Brisbane Lions when they take on the Crows at the Gabba on Saturday night.

Collier, who stands at 192cm and has the ability to play a variety of roles, is one of three inclusions for the Lions.

Michael Rischitelli and Robert Copeland also come into the side that was thumped by the Western Bulldogs last week.

Leigh Matthews’ team loses Jason Roe with a hamstring injury, while Cheynee Stiller and Matthew Leuenberger have both been omitted.

Adelaide’s forward line has received a welcome boost with Brett Burton resuming after a two-match suspension and Nick Gill in for his first game of the season.

Gill, 25, impressed in his role as a lead-up forward after breaking into the side for the last seven games of the 2007 season, but has been dogged by soft-tissue injuries so far this campaign.

Brent Reilly returns after being a late withdrawal from the team that fell to the Hawks by four points last week.

The news is not all good at West Lakes, however, with lead ruckman Jonathon Griffin out with a hip injury. Youngsters David Mackay and Andy Otten drop back to the SANFL with Brad Symes, Patrick Dangerfield and Trent Hentschel the emergencies.

West Coast coach John Worsfold has recalled some of his best and most experienced names for Saturday night’s clash with reigning premier Geelong.

Despite Worsfold suggesting mid-week that a premiership medallion wouldn’t guarantee a call-up, four members of the 2006 Grand Final side come into the team to take on the Cats at Subiaco, while promising forward Ben McKinley will also add firepower to the Eagles’ front half.

In other boosts for the home side, Daniel Kerr, Michael Braun, Chad Fletcher and Ashley Hansen will all return.

No. 3 draft pick Chris Masten goes out of the side with a hip injury, while the coach has dropped four players – Ryan Davis, Mark Seaby, Jamie McNamara and Brent Staker.

Geelong, meanwhile, has named an unchanged line-up as it chases its 12th win of the season, with Ryan Gamble, David Wojcinski and Kane Tenace named as emergencies.

Melbourne has added Shane Valenti, Mark Jamar and Matthew Whelan to an extended bench for Sunday’s clash against the Sydney Swans in Canberra.

The Swans have also added three players to their expanded squad with Luke Brennan, Nic Fosdike and Ben Mathews named on the bench for what will be Jude Bolton’s 200th AFL match.

Carlton has named young trio Mark Austin, Darren Pfeiffer and Steven Browne on a seven-man bench for Sunday’s match against the Bombers.

Essendon regains speedy winger Andrew Lovett for the clash following his recovery from a virus that kept him out of last week’s win over West Coast.

Ricky Dyson and Tayte Pears also come into the side and appear on a seven-man bench.

Collingwood has named power forward Anthony Rocca on its seven-man interchange bench despite him being an unlikely starter in the 22 for Sunday’s clash with the Western Bulldogs.

The Magpies must try to find a potent mix in attack in the absence of the suspended Travis Cloke and injured Leon Davis, who will miss the clash as forecast earlier in the day by Collingwood assistant coach Guy McKenna.

Cameron Wood returns to the Magpies’ side and has been named as starting ruckman for Mick Malthouse’s team, with Chris Bryan named at full-forward.

Others in contention for a recall include Tyson Goldsack, Ryan Cook, Danny Stanley and Alan Toovey.

Things are all peachy out at the Western Bulldogs, with Rodney Eade simply adding three players to his 22 for Sunday’s clash at Telstra Dome.

Jarrod Harbrow, Josh Hill and Peter Street are all in the mix to win a call-up for the clash with the Magpies after being named on the extended interchange bench, which will be finalised on Friday night.
