Hi members and supporters,

At the beginning of the season I was warned that by the end of Round 4 we could be 1-3.

Well that is the way it has turned out, although we put up two grand efforts against Geelong and Western Bulldogs.

In fact after those two very tough games, more knocks; Saturday’s result was not totally unexpected, and more knocks.

Well when the going gets tough, the tough get going, and with at last a reasonable break (eight days) between matches, all eyes turn to Tasmania for our game against North Melbourne on ANZAC Day, Sunday 25 April.

We go into that and subsequent games this year confident of the outcome at year’s end. Big call? Maybe, but we have the personnel and the coaching staff to lift the colours of the brown and gold.

No excuses, and I love the umpires, so their performance will not decide the outcome of our year. We will, all of us together.

And so back to Tassie for our first home game there this year. A new government, although the same Labor Premier David Bartlett, joined by Nick McKim Leader of the Greens and his team.

We congratulate them both and look forward to them providing strong government for the people of Tasmania, and I hope to see them both at the game on Sunday.

So happy Hawkers, stand tall, shoulders to the wheel, and we are coming after the leaders.

Stay well.
