WEST Coast’s Adam Hunter will have to wait at least one more week until he gets life-membership of his beloved club, with ongoing shoulder problems forcing him out of this week's clash with arch rivals the Sydney Swans at ANZ Stadium.

Hunter has struggled with ongoing shoulder issues, but pre-season attention allowed him to miss just the first round of the 2009 season.

But the joint now needs more work, so the 27-year-old will miss this weekend's match in order to have the same treatment that allowed him to play the last six matches and take his career tally to 149.

The Eagles award life membership to players who have appeared in 150 matches.

West Coast's general manager football operations, Neale Daniher, said the club hoped the tall utility would miss just the match against the Swans.

"It was always planned to conduct a medical review six weeks after the initial treatment on his shoulder injury," he said.

"That time is now and in consultation with the club's medical officers and with Adam it has been decided that he should have the second course of treatment this week.

"The treatment has assisted Adam in playing the last six matches. We anticipate similar results with the next course of treatment, which was so successful initially, and expect that he will miss just one game."
