Morgan Turkovic, 13 years old, rejoiced as the final siren blew to signal victory for his beloved Sunshine Heights Dragons at Chirnside Park in Werribee on Sunday 31st August, 2008.

Sunshine Heights had just defeated North Footscray to claim the division two premiership in the Western Region Football League Grand Final.

Morgan, who has cerebral palsy, lays claim to being Sunshine Heights’ biggest fan.

Morgan who has proved an inspiration to the club helped celebrate the win well after the siren with the players and supporters.

At one stage Morgan was presented with a premiership medallion and proclaimed an honourary member of the team.

Morgan’s example shows that being included in Australian Football is not always about playing, officiating or coaching.

Sunshine Heights have accepted Morgan at their club as a spectator and supporter and are experiencing the benefits of his inspiration guiding the club.

Morgan has been made welcome and the club has always fostered a genuine feeling of belonging and inclusion.
