The Crows Crew were gallant in defeat as they surrendered the Rowdown trophy to the Port crew after a classic contest in the annual Brighton Jetty Classic Rowdown last Sunday at Brighton Beach.

Skippered by Peter Caven, the crew consisting of Matt Liptak, Rod Jameson and Kym Koster, could not muscle home ahead of the "younger" Power crew made up of
Barnaby French, Brayden Lyle, Jarrod Poulton and Matthew Primus.

In front of thousands of footy fans on a perfect summer’s day the Crows crew were wary from the start as they had heard rumours the Power crew had been in training.

In 2006 the Power Crew took out the inaugural Rowdown after Jason Torney "caught a crab" in the second race after a dead heat initially.

Last year the Crows team consisting of Nathan Bock, Nathan Van Berlo, Scott Thompson and employee Craig Burton won easily.
