COLLINGWOOD's prized youngster Matt Scharenberg looks set to return this week, just eight months after undergoing a knee reconstruction.
The No.6 pick in the 2013 NAB AFL Draft, Scharenberg ruptured his ACL in August last year and has been in full training in recent weeks.
He was drafted with concerns of stress reactions in his feet, before opting for surgery in February last year. He returned to play four games in the VFL, only to go down with a season-ending knee injury.
AFL.com.au understands that barring any setback this week at training, the 19-year-old will play against Footscray in the VFL on Saturday.
