The rookie draft has proved a boon for players and clubs alike over the years, with many players using the opportunity to forge outstanding careers.
For the Cats, Max Rooke and Shannon Byrnes have been the biggest success stories, with both being key members of the 2007 and 2009 premiership teams. And the biggest surprise of the 2010 season was James Podsiadly who kicked a rookie list record 49 goals and polled 13 Brownlow votes.
