Andy Otten was again the standout Crows-listed player in SANFL games on the weekend.

South Adelaide was thrashed by bottom side West Adelaide but Otten – sent back to the SANFL after playing in the AFL against Carlton – was high among its best with 30 possessions as a midfielder. He was involved in all of South’s three goals and the club’s observers made note of his good attitude.

In the same game, Kurt Tippett played his first match for West Adelaide this year. He had limited possessions as a key forward but competed strongly and kicked 2.2.

Greg Gallman was the only other player involved in league action, earning 11 possessions with another strong defensive effort for North Adelaide.

There were five Crows in the reserves. Ed Curnow was named Glenelg’s best after collecting 32 possessions through the midfield; Jarrhan Jacky was a guest player for South and had an outstanding first half before fading; Brodie Martin had nine possessions and kicked two goals for Sturt; Myke Cook’s comeback continued with 15 possessions in a promising half; and Tony Armstrong kicked two goals from 20 possessions at half-back for North in another solid performance.

Three teams had a bye – the Eagles, Central District and Norwood.
