Sydney Swans players traded their guernseys for glamour on Monday night, attending the AFL’s annual Brownlow Medal presentation.

A number of Swans players and their partners attended the formal event, held at Crown Palladium, during which Adam Cooney was crowned the Brownlow Medallist for 2008.

Brett Kirk, Jarrad McVeigh, Leo Barry, Martin Mattner and Ben Mathews attended the event for the Swans.

Dual Brownlow medallist Adam Goodes polled very strongly, despite being ineligible to win the award, and finished in 5th place, with 21 votes.

Kirk had the second-highest number of votes for the Swans, polling 12 over the course of the season.

Youngster Patrick Vezspremi gained two votes in the final round of the season, the only first-year player to poll for the Swans

Collectively, Sydney Swans players polled 78 votes.  The Geelong Cats had the highest team score- 112 votes- while fellow grand-finalists Hawthorn has 91 votes across their team.

The Swans players’ partners frocked up for the occasion.  Tara O’Keefe, wife of forward Ryan, wore a red gown by Willow.  Chelsea Pomfret, partner of Martin Mattner, wore a black and white dress by Wayne Cooper, and Clementine Seton, partner of Jarrad McVeigh, wore a purple and white print Lisa Ho dress.

McVeigh and O'Keefe wore suits supplied by Ben Sherman, whilst a number of the players wore shoes supplied by ZU.
