Here’s Power General Manager – Football Operations Peter Rohde’s insight into this week’s selection…
We thought we played a bit better last week than the week before, a lot of players have been under pressure to keep their spot in the side, but we really thought that most of the players showed some good signs at the weekend and we want to support them again. Obviously no injuries help to keep the same team too.
Adam Thomson has had two really good performances at Sturt so he was very stiff not to get back in.
Tom Logan and Damon White didn’t play last week. Tom Logan was 23rd man and Damon White’s team had the bye so it will be good for them to get a run in the SANFL to get a little bit of form. Unfortunately Tom Logan’s team has the bye this weekend.
Nathan Krakouer and Robbie Gray played their first full games at SANFL seniors for the year, so they probably need another game or two. Fabian Deluca has had two good games at Sturt so he’s waiting for an opportunity too.
There’s no injury worries this week. Shaun Burgoyne hasn’t trained too much yet, but we’re expecting him to come up fine after he hurt his ankle in the game last week. David Rodan, who was in doubt last week, has pulled up well so we’re not expecting that there will be any injury issues with him.
It’s probably a bit unusual to be zero and three and not to have made any changes to the team but we’re showing some faith in the players to get the job done.
The Power has won four of the past five encounters between the two clubs.
The Power’s 22 to face the Lions, as named at 4.30pm on Thursday, is as follows…
