A squad of 40 players in contention for selection for the 2024 Smithy’s VFL Team of the Year has been announced.

The final team of 24 players will be named on Monday, September 16 at the 2024 VFL and VFLW Awards. A captain and coach will also be selected.

Minor premier Werribee has the most representatives in the 2024 Smithy’s VFL Team of the Year squad, with six players selected. Southport Sharks (four) and Frankston (three) are the only other clubs to have more than two players in the squad.

Players must have played a minimum of nine home and away matches to be considered for selection in the 2024 Smithy's VFL Team of the Year.

AFL-listed players are eligible to be selected.
