Most Improved Player
When he was first drafted at the end of 2004, there were big expectations on Jarryd Roughead and while he was serviceable in his first two seasons of football, he really took the next step this year and became a potent forward, even at times out shining ‘Buddy’ Franklin. After getting a reprieve against Port Adelaide in Round 10 and playing two games that week (one for Box Hill in the VFL), Roughead has never looked back and continued to improve his game till seasons end.
Winner: Jarryd Roughead

Most Consistent
While most of the limelight went to players like Franklin, Hodge and Mitchell, one man stood tall all year in the backline and was the sole Hawthorn representative in the All-Australian team which emphasised his consistency throughout the season.

Campbell Brown throughout the year never had his colours lowered while tackling opponents a lot bigger than him and troubling high profile forwards like Lucas, Richardson and Pavlich to name a few. He epitomises what football is about, being hard and courageous and leaving nothing out on the field after the game.
Winner: Campbell Brown

Best Clubman
This player might not be the most skilled player at Hawthorn but his efforts as a true team man should be recognised. Brad Sewell throughout the year was the individual that always put the team ahead and this was evident through the way he went about his footy. He played the shut down role when required and did it to good use, he racked up possessions at will and most importantly, his defensive efforts were always first rate like his hardness at the footy and along with his tenacious tackling.
Winner: Brad Sewell

Best First Year Player
When first watching this player in action, it was hard not to be a skeptic and question why this player was playing AFL but to his credit, Ben McGlynn showed why he was given a chance of the rookie list last year and elevated on to the senior list this year. His run through the midfield coming of the bench was a breath of fresh air and his continued improvement in the seasons to come will only strengthen the Club as it thrives for future success.
Winner: Ben McGlynn

Best player in the Finals Series
Who will ever forget ‘Buddy’ Franklin’s goal in the dying seconds of the final term to get the Hawks over the line in week one of the Finals against the Crows. When it came to the crunch, ‘Buddy’ stood up with three amazing goals in the last term and brought the whole crowd into raptures with the amazing finish. Although his performance the week after wasn’t as clinical, he wasn’t alone as the whole teams performance was below par but Hawks supporters have a lot to look forward to in finals series to come with ‘Buddy’ leading the way in a very potent forward line during the seasons to follow.
Winner: Lance Franklin

Peter Crimmins Medal
An amazing year for the Hawthorn Football club culminates tomorrow night with the announcement of the Peter Crimmins medalist for the 2007 season. There are many players who have had an outstanding year. Lance ‘Buddy’ Franklin’s year was brilliant and kept supporters on edge with his freakish array of skills in front of goal.

Luke Hodge showed toughness and courage all year and impressed with his leadership qualities while Richie Vandenberg was injured. Could he follow the likes of Matthews, Tuck and the likes as another Hawthorn premiership captain in the years to follow?

Sam ‘Clearance King’ Mitchell worked hard all year in the centre and dominated the clearances feeding forwards like Franklin, Roughead and Boyle while racking up numerous high possession games with his ball winning abilities.
Peter Crimmins Medal: Sam Mitchell
Runner Up: Luke Hodge
Third Place: Lance Franklin
