MORE than four months on, and watching the Grand Final still hurts Charlie Cameron.

The former Adelaide small forward said he "didn't stand up in big moments" in the Crows' loss to Richmond and it still troubled him.

And he's still getting little reminders – inadvertently – during his first pre-season with Brisbane.

"A few times here they've shown a few clips of the Grand Final, talking about Richmond, I had my head down thinking, 'I'm not watching this'," Cameron told AFL.com.au

"You don't want to think about it because you lost the Grand Final.

"You try and move on. The sun comes up the next day.

"It was a good learning point to play in a Grand Final.

"You've got to stand up in big moments and I don't think I did that well. It reflects the way we played."

Cameron spoke glowingly of his time at the Crows, where he played 73 games in four seasons.

The 23-year-old finished with 16 disposals and one goal against the Tigers, but like many of his teammates, was quiet in the crucial first half.

Cameron said he was grateful for the chance to play in the 2017 decider – a chance many older players never had.

The former Marist Ashgrove student has fitted in well with the Lions, buzzing around a speedy half-forward line at training that often includes Dayne Zorko, Lewy Taylor and No.1 draft pick Cam Rayner.

"When I was in Adelaide I was one that brought the energy, so when I go out there I'm going to enjoy it and not be quiet," he said.

"I've played a few games so I want to be a bit of a leader out there.

"In Adelaide you had Rory Sloane, 'Tex' (Taylor Walker), Daniel Talia, Eddie Betts, Tom Lynch, so I was a bit quiet in that forward line.

"You try and learn off them.

"I enjoyed my time in Adelaide and made the most of it.

"Coming here you try and help out and be a leader. I've played 73 games and have that experience that I want to pass on."
