LANCE Franklin has submitted his entry for goal of the year with a running effort eerily similar to his famous goal against Essendon seven years ago.

The superstar Swan raced onto a loose ball on the wing and set off running down the boundary line. He fumbled his second bounce, but had enough time to regather and then finish from 40m out hard up against the boundary line.

Daniel Talia trailed him the whole way, much like Bomber Cale Hooker did back in 2010 when Franklin - then a Hawk - won goal of the year.
