Jack Ziebell faces a reprimand from the AFL's Match Review Panel after an incident involving Carlton's Kade Simpson during Friday night's match.
The North Melbourne midfielder was charged for striking Simpson in the first quarter with the MRP's findings as follows:
Jack Ziebell, North Melbourne, has been charged with a Level One striking offence against Kade Simpson, Carlton, during the first quarter of the Round 19 match between North Melbourne and Carlton, played at Etihad Stadium on Friday July 29, 2011.
In summary, he can accept a reprimand and 60 points towards his future record with an early plea.
Based on the video evidence available and a medical report from Carlton, the incident was assessed as negligent conduct (one point), low impact (one point) and high contact (two points). This is a total of four activation points, resulting in a classification of a Level One offence, drawing a reprimand and 80 points towards his future record. He has no existing good or record. An early plea reduces the penalty by 25 per cent to a reprimand and 60 points towards his future record.
