Buddy an official starter as West Coasts rests a star
SYDNEY SWANS v WEST COAST Thursday, February 27 Blacktown International Sportspark, Sydney, 7.10pm AEST
TOM MITCHELL and Luke Shuey are sitting out for the Sydney Swans and West Coast respectively for Thursday night's NAB Challenge match at a wet Blacktown International Sportspark.
Both have been named emergencies, with rookie ruckman Toby Nankervis and defender Jordan Lockyer also left out of the Swans' squad on a night when Lance Franklin will make his official debut for the club.
Dylan Main and rookie Will Maginness are also sitting out for the visiting Eagles.
Lewis Jetta and Aliir Aliir will start off in the green substitute's vest for the Swans, with Patrick McGinnity and Adam Carter West Coast's subs.
The Swans, who are aiming to build on last week's opening practice match win over Greater Western Sydney, are resting some big names, including co-captains Kieren Jack and Jarrad McVeigh, Josh Kennedy and Ted Richards.
The Eagles have also brought a young squad to western Sydney and are fresh off a commanding 84-point victory over Fremantle.
