FREMANTLE forward Chris Tarrant will miss the club's final three games of 2008 due to shoulder surgery later this week.

Tarrant, who has played 198 AFL games, had been carrying the injury, but has decided to go under the knife now in order to be ready for next season.

The expected recovery period is 12-14 weeks, meaning Tarrant should be ready to go toward the end of November.

The 27-year-old has kicked 23 goals this year, and 355 in his career. He came to Fremantle after the 2006 season following nine years at Collingwood in a trade that saw Paul Medhurst go to the Magpies.

His highest goal tally was in 2003 when he kicked 54.
