The Dockers secured a historic Grand Final berth with a 25-point win over the Sydney Swans in Saturday night's preliminary final in Perth.
Hawthorn will start favourites in the premiership decider, but Pavlich says Fremantle won't be intimidated by the Hawks, who have lost just three games this season.
Fremantle's confidence is sky high after bullying the Swans into submission with a brilliant display of pressure football.
The clinical nature in which Fremantle dismantled the Swans' game plan would have sent a shiver through any Hawthorn players watching on.
Pavlich has achieved a long list of individual accolades during his 14-year career.
His six All-Australian jumpers and six best-and-fairest awards stack up with the game's greats.
The 31-year-old, who has been skipper since 2007, is also Fremantle's games and goals record holder.
But the one thing missing from his resume is what he craves the most - a premiership.
Team success has been in short supply during Fremantle's 19-year history, with Pavlich's 290 games the most by any current player without appearing in a premiership decider.
Pavlich, who stayed loyal to Fremantle despite having several chances to return home to South Australia, says he felt a mix of relief and excitement about finally reaching a grand final.
"Clearly the club's been through a lot of hard times and I've been part of that," Pavlich said on Sunday.
"And there are times when you really think you may not get opportunities that you really desire.
"If I wanted individual awards and highlights, you'd play an individual sport like golf or tennis.
"Clearly I've got no ability in those two things and that's why I chose a team sport.
"Team success is all that matters in this game.
"As much as people make it out for other highlights and other reasons, all you crave is team success and that's why I'm really proud to be a part of this group."
Fremantle are set to take an unchanged line-up into Saturday's decider after defenders Michael Johnson (calf) and Luke McPharlin (calf/adductor) were given the all-clear.
Hawthorn will be without defender Brendan Whitecross (knee), but star forward Lance Franklin (elbow) and Brent Guerra (shoulder/thigh) are expected to be fit.
Pavlich has had little influence this season due to injury and suspension.
But the talented spearhead is hitting form at the right time, booting two early goals in the 14.15 (99) to 11.8 (74) win over the Swans.
Hawthorn looked a tad vulnerable in their five-point win over Geelong on Friday night, and Pavlich said Fremantle would take it up to the minor premiers.
"We're not there to make up the numbers. We're there to compete fiercely," Pavlich said.
"We won't be intimidated. We won't take a backward step."
