CARLTON has named Steven Browne for his AFL debut as the Blues look to win their third match in succession against Adelaide at the MCG on Saturday.

Bryce Gibbs comes back into the side after missing one week with a back problem, while tall forward Adam Hartlett has broken into the side for his first match of the season.

Browne, a 180cm utility from West Perth, was taken at selection 36 in the 2007 NAB AFL Draft and will be the 1113th player to represent the club.

He played a variety of run-with roles in the pre season and again looks likely to be used as a tagger against the Crows.

Jordan Bannister drops out of the team that defeated Melbourne last week with a hamstring injury, while Adam Bentick and Setanta O’hAilpin have been omitted, but appear on the emergency list with Dennis Armfield.

The Crows made just one change and bolstered their line-up with onballer Chris Knights who has recovered from a quad strain suffered in the NAB Cup Grand Final loss to St Kilda.

He replaces Jarrhan Jacky who debuted last week in Adelaide’s win over Fremantle.

Kris Massie has also recovered from a hamstring strain but has been named on the emergency list along with Ivan Maric and Patrick Dangerfield.

Western Bulldogs veteran Scott West will make a welcome return after two weeks out with a knee complaint when the Dogs host West Coast at Telstra Dome on Saturday night.

He is the only change to the side and replaces Jarrod Harbrow who was omitted from the 22 that secured a thrilling draw against Richmond last week.

Guy O’Keefe, Callan Ward and Stephen Tiller are the emergencies.

The Eagles have rung the changes as they look to resurrect a season that is in danger of getting away from them.

Experienced trio Chad Fletcher, Mark Nicoski and Mark Seaby have all felt the wrath of John Worsfold as did 21-year-old Matt Spangher who made his debut in round four.

Brent Staker is back after missing a week due a Barry Hall-induced concussion, first-year player Brad Ebert is in for his third game, former Blue Josh Kennedy will play his first game for the club and Will Schofield is in for his first game of the season.

Fletcher and Spangher are emergencies along with Jamie McNamara.

Port Adelaide will go into Saturday night’s home clash against St Kilda with the same 22 that defeated West Coast by 24 points.

The Power got through the win, its first of the season, unscathed and could find no room for 2006 NAB Rising Star winner Danyle Pearce who is an emergency along with Paul Stewart and Greg Bentley.

The Saints have made three changes ahead of the match with Steven King (hamstring), Sam Gilbert (shoulder) and Clinton Jones (omitted) dropping out of the side that defeated Essendon last week.

Stephen Baker makes his long-awaited return after missing the first five games of the season through suspension, while Shane Birss comes in with ruckman Michael Rix who will have a heavy load to carry in the absence of King and Michael Gardiner.

Jarryd Allen, Jarryn Geary and Matthew Ferguson are the emergencies.

Running defender Tadhg Kennelly returns for the Sydney Swans on Sunday with the Irishman named on his familiar half-back flank in the team to take on North Melbourne at the SCG on Sunday.

Kennelly, 26, is back after missing one week, while Ben Mathews and Jesse White have been named on an extended bench.

The Kangaroos will be without Daniel Pratt, who unsuccessfully contested a one-match suspension during the week, and the injured Leigh Brown from the side that pipped Collingwood in a thriller at the MCG last week.

All five of the Roos’ inclusions – Scott Thompson, Lachlan Hansen, Eddie Sansbury, Jess Sinclair and Andrew Swallow - appear on an expanded bench.

Hawthorn has added three players to its extended squad as it looks to continue its unbeaten start to the season against Richmond at the MCG.

Ben McGlynn, Cameron Stokes and Jarryd Morton appear on a seven-man bench with Morton to debut if selected in the final team.

Joel Bowden is a chance to return for the Tigers after being named on an extended bench for the twilight fixture.

The 238-game veteran has not played seniors since the side’s round three loss to Collingwood. But he comes into the squad with Daniel Jackson and Andrew Collins.

Collins, a 19-year-old midfielder picked 73rd overall in the 2006 NAB AFL Draft, will debut if he survives Friday night’s final team selection.

The Brisbane Lions host winless Melbourne on Sunday and will make at least two changes to the team defeated by Hawthorn at the Gabba last week.

Colm Begley is out with a quad strain and Ashley McGrath has been dropped, while up to three players - Tom Collier, James Polkinghorne and Bradd Dalziell - could possibly make their debuts after being named on a seven-man bench.

Also coming into the side on the bench are Lachlan Henderson and Scott Harding.

With Matthew Whelan out suspended and skipper David Neitz placed on the long-term injury list, the Demons must also make at least two changes.

Brad Miller goes straight into the starting 18 at full forward, while Matthew Bate, Simon Buckley, Colin Garland and Matthew Warnock all appear on an extended bench that will be trimmed back on Friday afternoon.
