About the role:

To promote, develop and grow all aspects of Aussie Rules Football within the District by creating great relationships with stakeholders within the football community and school markets focusing around growing participation at a grass roots level. This is a Full Time Permanent Contract.

Reporting to the Head of Participation the role is responsible for the following key tasks:

  • Implement the Play AFL campaign across the Region.
  • Deliver opportunities for All Abilities players to participate in AFL programs
  • Support agreed Diversity & Inclusion programs within District.
  • Provide ongoing support for all Auskick centres within the region
  • Conduct and oversee Primary School football clinics, programs and competitions linking school participation to club-based competitions
  • Promote, assist, and support Secondary School football programs and competitions linking school participation to club-based competitions
  • Coordinate and promote local AFL 9s and Superkick centres and social football programs
  • Maintain a strong working relationship with WAFL club staff and volunteers and work across partnership programs and events
  • Take independent action to positively influence events without receiving direct instructions whilst remaining in the limits of defined accountabilities

 

To be considered for this position you will need to demonstrate the following essential criteria:

  • A sound understanding of WA Football structure and system
  • An understanding of Club & School environments within WA Football
  • Level 1 or 2 Coaching Accreditation
  • Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent industry experience
  • Ability to lead and interact confidently with groups of participants and stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to innovate
  • Strong Computer literacy, along with Social Media comprehension
  • Able to work outside standard normal business hours and on weekends
  • Current WA Drivers Licence
  • Working with Children card
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Excellent written and verbal communications
  • Demonstrated ability to operate under pressure situations whilst achieving outcomes
  • A self-motivator, who achieves results autonomously or via teamwork
  • Understanding the various segments of Community Football (Club and School) in Western Australia.
