ST KILDA forward Tim Membrey has accepted a two-match suspension for his late hit on Richmond defender Dylan Grimes in Saturday night's clash at Etihad Stadium.
Membrey's strike, which sidelined Grimes for the entire second half and left him with swelling near his cheekbone, was graded careless conduct with high impact to the head.
The Saints forward arrived late to a contest as Grimes was running with the flight of the ball, making contact with his forearm to the Tiger defender's head and eventually forcing him from the ground.
A medical report was used in determining the grading, with Grimes diagnosed with concussion but not appearing to suffer any additional facial injuries in the incident.

Collingwood midfielder Levi Greenwood has accepted a one-match suspension for his high strike on Essendon star Zach Merrett in Saturday's clash at the MCG.
Greenwood elected to bump and made initial contact with Merrett's shoulder, but his left arm slid high and the midfielder made contact to the Bomber's head with his elbow.
The hit was graded as careless conduct with low impact to the head, resulting in a two-match ban that was downgraded to one with an early guilty plea.

Western Bulldogs defender Easton Wood has accepted a one-match suspension as a result of his third low-level charge after he struck Adelaide's Mitch McGovern on Friday night.
Wood has been charged twice already with intentional, low impact strikes to the body, on Josh Schache (Brisbane Lions) in round five and Taylor Garner (North Melbourne) in round 14.
A third offence resulted in an automatic one-match suspension, sidelining Wood for Sunday's clash against Carlton.
Wood becomes the first player to be suspended under the three strikes system since it was introduced ahead of the 2015 season.
Richmond captain Trent Cotchin accepted a $1500 fine for intentionally striking St Kilda's Jack Lonie in the stomach.
The strike, which was graded low impact, was Cotchin's second offence this season after he was charged for a jumper punch on Lachie Neale in round eight.
As was the case with Wood, a third low level offence from Cotchin this season would result in a one-match suspension, rather than a financial penalty.
The midfielder would also be ruled ineligible for the Brownlow Medal.

West Coast forward Drew Petrie has accepted a $1000 fine for a late bump on Port Adelaide's Matt White, with the incident assessed as careless conduct with low impact to the head.
Carlton draftee Cameron Polson was charged with striking in the VFL and copped a $600 fine and a reprimand with an early guilty plea.
The first-year midfielder struck Port Melbourne's Tom O'Sullivan when representing the Northern Blues in Saturday's clash at Preston City Oval, with the punch graded as intentional conduct with low impact to the body.
