CARLTON skipper Chris Judd and Saint Stephen Milne are both free to play the first week of finals after the match review panel's assessment of round 24.

Judd's heavy tackle on Saint Sam Gilbert at the MCG on Saturday night caused speculation on social media and in media reports that he could face suspension.

However, the panel deemed the incident not worthy of assessment.

Milne has escaped with a reprimand for striking Carlton's Aaron Joseph in the third quarter of the Saints-Blues clash.

The incident was assessed as intentional and low body impact, drawing 125 demerit points and a one-match ban.

However, owing to his five-year good record, Milne can accept 70.31 demerit points towards his future record with an early plea and avoid suspension.

Blue Aaron Joseph was the only other player cited after standing on the hand of Milne during the second quarter.

Joseph can accept a $900 fine with an early plea.
