CHRIS Tarrant and Darren Jolly missed Collingwood's Friday morning training session but are still expected to line up against Port Adelaide on Saturday night at AAMI Stadium.

The experienced pair was absent from the session at Gosch's Paddock for family reasons, with Jolly training earlier in the morning with the VFL side.

Both are expected to travel to Adelaide on Friday afternoon, either with the team shortly after lunch or separately on a later flight.

"They both have family commitments and they didn't train today but they'll both be right to go tomorrow," defender Ben Reid said after the hit-out.

Tarrant, 30, is due to play his 250th game on Saturday night against the Power in what is his second stint at Collingwood following four years at Fremantle.

Reid said they had spoken of the important milestone during the week, given how significant Tarrant's return had proved for the group this season.

"He's been a great servant for the footy club for a number of years, he obviously went back to Freo and he came back this year and ever since he's been here he's been fantastic for the group," he said.

"Myself, being a backline player, he's helped me out a fair bit as well.

"He's been fantastic for a number of years, he's [an] All Australian and he's come back to the club he loves and we couldn't be happier having him back."

The Magpies won't be the only side celebrating a milestone, with Port Adelaide veteran Chad Cornes poised to play his final AFL game.

Reid admitted he was a chance to line up on the 238-game player, and believed the hosting team would put in an extra effort in honour of their retiring great.

"They'll be up and about this week and we have to bring our A-game," he said.

"He's been a great servant of their club for a number of years and I'm sure they'll rally around him and try and get a win for him."

The Pies have made four changes with Dale Thomas returning from a corked thigh, Alan Didak from an injured calf and Cameron Wood and Luke Rounds from the VFL.

Reid said the inclusions were significant; particularly Didak, who has not played since the Pies' round 14 win over the Sydney Swans.

"It's good to get 'Dids' and 'Daiz' back, they're quality players and it always helps when they're back in the side," he said.

"'Dids is running around out there today like a little kid, so he's very excited about it."

Harry O'Brien was the only player excluded from this week with injury, but Reid believed it was only a case of minor knee pain that had kept him from making the trip over the border.

"He's just got a bit of soreness and hopefully it's only a one-weeker and he'll be right to go next week," he said.

"I'm pretty confident he'll be back next week but I'm not 100 per cent sure."
