JIMMY Bartel looks like a new man after shaving off his bushy beard, and it has all been a bit confusing for his son Aston.
After nearly 200 days growing out his beard to raise awareness about the Face up to DV (domestic violence) campaign, the Geelong star had the fuzz removed at a charity even on Tuesday.
And in a video posted on Bartel's wife Nadia's Instagram page, the couple's young son, who turns one-year-old next month, seemed a bit perplexed by the apparent stranger holding him.
"He's so shocked," Nadia Bartel said. "He just wants to go for the beard but it's not there."
All eyes are on the 2007 Brownlow medallist for a different reason after the retirement of triple-premiership teammate Corey Enright.
Bartel has activated a trigger clause to play on next year but is yet to make a call and will meet with coach Chris Scott this week to discuss his future.
