THE SYDNEY Swans meet Greater Western Sydney for the first time since the Giants sprung an enormous upset over their cross-town rivals in round one this year. The third-placed Swans have turned around a 1-3 start to the season with an impressive nine-game winning streak, including three straight at the SCG. But GWS is also in top form, putting together back-to-back victories for the first time in its short history over the past fortnight. One winning run will come to an end in front of what promises to be another huge crowd at the redeveloped ground.

THE SIX POINTS
1. The Swans' nine-game winning streak is their best since 2012, their last premiership season. But it is almost 80 years since they won 10 or more, putting together a club record-equalling run of 12 straight way back in 1935.

2. GWS midfielder Adam Treloar starred with 34 touches in round one, while Jeremy Cameron and Jonathon Patton combined for seven goals. Lance Franklin kicked one goal on his Swans debut.

3. The Swans are once again the AFL's top tackling team, averaging 74.4 per game. GWS is 4th with 73 per game.

4. Despite their round-one loss, the average score between these teams is 115 points to 58 in favour of the Swans.

5. Contested marking is an area where the Giants can improve, currently ranked 17th with just 7.2 per game. The Swans are ninth with 9.3

6. Callan Ward has been on a steady recent rise in the Official AFL Player Ratings. Ranked 43rd overall back in round five, he is up to 30th entering round 15.

Prediction: Sydney Swans by 31 points
