The other big selection news is at Fremantle, where Luke McPharlin, Greg Broughton and Nat Fyfe have been selected but Chris Tarrant remains on ice.

Coach Mark Harvey has opted to leave Tarrant outside the starting 22 for Sunday's clash with Melbourne, with the reliable defender among the emergencies and likely to play in the WAFL.

Melbourne looks set to bring in Rohan Bail and Cale Morton to replace the injured Jack Trengove (hip), while Kyle Cheney is likely to have a rest.

Young midfielder Kane Lucas will be among three inclusions for Carlton when it hosts the Sydney Swans at Etihad Stadium on Sunday.

Jarrad Waite has served his suspension and joins Shaun Grigg in the side. Robbie Warnock still awaits his chance on the emergency list.

Ryan Houlihan is out injured, and Brett Ratten has lost patience with Bret Thornton and Setanta O’hAilpin.

The Sydney Swans have made just one change, recalling Martin Mattner at the expense of Trent Dennis-Lane.
