Training report

Date:
Friday 15 January
Location: Lakeside Oval
Best on ground: McGlynn, McVeigh, Grundy, Malceski

The players participated in a 12-a-side practice match today at training, it wasn’t a full practice match, more of a game simulation training session with two 15-minute halves. The size of the ground is reduced, and the pressure is high, but not quite as full-on as a regular practice match.

One of the standouts was Ben McGlynn, who is starting to get used to the players around him, and finding the players are starting to get used to him too. He was playing in both a forward and midfield role today, and did very well.

Nick Malceski was playing across half-back and defended well. He showed good ball use, ran well and linked up well. He was good across half-back with Marty Mattner.

The ruck guys are looking good, Shane Mumford was great today - I think Mumford in particular is starting to feel a bit more at ease, and is getting a bit more familar with the other players. Mumford and Daniel Currie played on each other in the ruck and both did a good job.
