The Tigers welcome back All-Australian defender Darren Gaspar and have added promising key forward/ruckman Adam Pattison and rookie Nathan Foley.
Veteran ruckman/forward Greg Stafford (calf strain) and midfielder Greg Tivendale (hip) are both expected to miss just one-match through injury.
Forward Rory Hilton has been omitted. He is an emergency with Daniel Jackson and Jay Schulz.
Richmond football operations manager Paul Armstrong said Pattison's elevation, for his second AFL match, was thoroughly deserved.
"He's (Pattison) played really well at VFL level with Coburg so he deserves his chance, as does Nathan Foley, who has also been good," Armstrong said of the youngsters.
Fremantle has rushed back explosive forward Jeff Farmer for its home-town match.
Farmer has been sidelined for the past three matches due to a hamstring injury.
Making way for Farmer is emerging Docker Brett Peake, who has played the past six matches since making his AFL debut in round 13.
Roger Hayden, who has not made an AFL appearance this season, due to leg and hamstring injuries, has been named an emergency along with Michael Johnson and Peake.
