THE ORGANISATION
- To build a stronger Peel Community through Football.
THE POSITION
- To manage the players, coaches and support staff in the following Development Programs: 14’s & 15’s Talent Academy, Futures, Colts
- To operate in-line on the WAFC and PTFC Strategic Plan and Values
- To play a key role in the delivery of Peel Thunder Football Club talent outcomes.
- To play a key role in the development of a best practice talent identification and player development systems.
- To provide players within the Peel Thunder talent pathway with the best possible opportunity to develop as people and as players.
- To support the WA State Academy in meeting their talent development targets.
- To lead the establishment of a deep connection between Peel Thunder and their zoned community Clubs.
The Responsibilities
- Management: Ensure all players, coaches, support staff under your management receive quality support, education and opportunity to grow in their role, while they maintain high standards aligned to the PTFC and WAFC Talent Strategic Plan and Values.
- Strategy & Planning: Work in collaboration with key Club staff to develop and deliver the Strategic Plan and annual Operational Plan for the WA talent pathway. Develop an annual budget in-line with overall Club Strategies and a focus on managing all aspects of the Talent Program.
- Operations: Delivery an annual operation plan and ensure the week-to-week operations of the Talent Program is efficient, organsied and thoroughly planned. Work collaboratively with the PTFC staff, to ensure the Club has a ‘one-in, all-in’ approach.
- State Academy Programs: Ensure the talent identification framework captures all possible players with the key attributes and maintain strong relationships with the AFL, WAFL and other key stakeholders.
- Talent Pathway: Oversee the delivery of a best practice talent program within the WAFL club environment. Ensure alignment with WAFC and AFL expectations in regard to program content, program quality and program philosophy. Ensure access for regionally based players is always a focus, maintains a strong sense of flexibility and is premised on equality of opportunity.
- Talent Identification: Oversee and manage the benchmark talent identification framework, strategy and ensure the best quality talent is being identified within our region.
- Administration: Ensure administration of key information is documented correctly and emails are responded to in a timely and organsied manner.
- Communication: Ensure communication is clear, concise and you’re reliable and approachable, in regard to phone calls, text messages and emails.
- Stakeholder Management/Relationships: Develop and foster healthy, respectful partnerships with the key stakeholders (listed in Relationships section)
- Meetings: Be available for key meetings for key stakeholders (e.g. Talent Managers meetings).
- Compliance: Ensure key compliance measures are correctly completed and in a timely manner (e.g. PlayHQ registrations, WAFL Operations requirements)
- Personal Development: Continue to seek opportunities to further educate yourself and up-skill in different environment and opportunities.
- Professional Standards: Represent PTFC’s values with esteem and set the standard of behaviors we expect from our players and staff.

Qualifications & Experiences
Essential
- Tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in sports management or education
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal, teamwork and relationship building skills
- Outstanding stakeholder management skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage operations in a timely, organised and professional manner
- High level strategic thinking acumen
- Demonstrated leadership capability
- Extensive understanding of WA Football structure and the issues involved in the talent pathway
- Ability to work outside of normal working hours
- Experience in working with a range of stakeholder groups

Reporting
- Talent Manager role reports to the Peel Thunder GM Football Operations and works closely aligned with the WAFC Talent Manager
- Roles reporting to the Talent Manager: Futures Head Coach, Colts Head Coach, All Talent Program coaches, Team Managers and Support staff (S&C and Medical Support Staff to report to the High Performance Manager)
