The Brisbane Lions' offices at the Gabba officially re-opened for business on Friday 14 January after being closed for three days as a result of the devastating Brisbane floods.

The Lions Shop remains closed, but will re-open on Monday 17 January.

The Lions players returned to training on Thursday 13 January but will allocate time throughout their schedule to assist the Brisbane community with its city clean-up.

Lions CEO Steven Wright described the floods as an absolute tragedy with the Club just one of many organisations affected by the disaster.

"Our thoughts are with those who have been affected by the floods. As a Club we will continue to discuss ways we can assist those affected in an ongoing capacity,” Mr Wright said.

AFL General Manager Football Operations Adrian Anderson said the AFL was doing everything it could to assist the club and the wider community.

“Our thoughts are with everyone in Queensland who has been affected by the floods and we offer our condolences to those who have been most severely impacted,” Mr Anderson said.

"The AFL and its 18 clubs have already announced a contribution of $500,000 towards the flood relief appeal and when the crisis subsides we will look at what else we can do to support those communities.”
