Twenty-nine players from Coates Talent League teams were selected in the 2024 Telstra AFLW Draft.

This year’s event was the league’s first ever national Draft, with all nominees available to be selected by any of the 18 AFLW clubs.

A total of 60 players were picked on Monday night, with nearly half of them coming from the Coates Talent League.

All 13 of the competition’s full-time teams from Victoria and Tasmania had a player selected, headed by the Eastern Ranges who had five players picked.

Ash Centra became the first player from the Gippsland Power to be taken selected with the first pick in an AFLW Draft, with the star midfielder/forward drafted by Collingwood.

Centra also became just the second player in the Magpies’ history to be selected with the first selection in a Draft, following Josh Fraser in 1999.
