Geelong has announced the appointment of three key staff in the football operations department.Paul Haines has been appointed as the fitness and conditioning coach. Paul joins us from the Adelaide Crows after six years working in their fitness department and has worked closely with Neil Craig, Charlie Walsh and Stephen Schwerdt in developing a conditioning program to suit the modern game. Paul has an excellent understanding of sports science requirement and will further add to our conditioning program. Paul has already commenced at the GFC and is busy preparing for the players return for pre season training.Dean Robinson has also been appointed to the position of rehabilitation and strength coach and joins us from the Manly Rugby Leagues Club where he held the position of Performance Manager for the past two years. Dean has a masters in physiotherapy, has experience in weights conditioning and speed/agility programs and also writes programs for current GPS systems. Dean will commence at the GFC on 30 October 2006.Assistant general manager of football operations Steve Hocking said: “Both Dean and Paul have strong sports science programs and will combine well with Dr. Chris Bradshaw.“It is envisaged that our training programs will be well researched and well planned with our players to be heavily tested throughout the entirety of the pre season.”Former Richmond player Duncan Kellaway has been appointed as our second physiotherapist and senior runner for 2007. Duncan has been working as a physiotherapist at Olympic Park Sports Medical Clinic since retiring from AFL football and will commence on 6 November 2006. Duncan will work alongside Nick Ames.
