Nick Gill will play his first AFL game for 2008 in Brisbane on Saturday night.

The exciting forward is one of three inclusions for Adelaide’s clash with the Brisbane Lions at the Gabba. Brett Burton returns from a two week suspension and Brent Reilly, who was a late withdrawal last weekend with adductor tightness, is the other addition. They have replaced Jonathon Griffin, Andy Otten and David Mackay in the 22.

Nathan Bassett, who injured his neck last Saturday night against Hawthorn, has been named to play his 200th AFL game.

The emergencies are Trent Hentschel, Patrick Dangerfield and Brad Symes, who has not played since injuring an ankle in round six.

Gill, a mature-age recruit in the 2006 national draft, made his AFL debut in round 17 last year and had an impact in seven consecutive games.

But his pre-season was derailed by a series of leg injuries, including a calf strain on the eve of the NAB Cup match in Dubai. He only recently returned to action with North Adelaide in the SANFL but starred last week with four goals from 13 marks and 21 possessions.

Adelaide trains at 10am on Friday (Max Basheer Reserve) and heads to Brisbane in the afternoon.
