STAR North Melbourne ruckman Todd Goldstein is in serious doubt to face Geelong on Sunday at Etihad Stadium after leaving Friday's training session on crutches.
Goldstein, 28, was hampered by an ankle concern during the pre-season.
The severity of his current injury is not yet known.
It marks another injury blow for the Kangaroos, who will also be without experienced forward Jarrad Waite after he was sent for shoulder surgery following the round one loss to West Coast.
Developing big man Brayden Preuss was dropped from the side to face the Cats but was named as an emergency. North's other emergencies are Mitchell Hibberd and Declan Mountford.
Majak Daw was brought into the side for his first game of 2017.
Tagger Ben Jacobs (foot) and promising forward Mason Wood (hamstring) are other best 22 players on the sidelines for North.
