The Vodafone Brisbane Lions are inviting all local members and supporters to attend a FREE BBQ at the Club’s summer training facility at Giffin Park, Birubi Street, Coorparoo this Friday 6 February between 3:30pm and 7pm.

The event coincides with the Lions’ group skills training session which commences at 4pm and presents an ideal opportunity for fans and their families to see the team in action.

The sausage sizzle food has been generously provided by Lenard’s Poultry and Brumby’s Metropol while regular training attendees the B.R.I.T.S (Brisbane Reserves Infamous Travelling Squad) will be our volunteer chefs.

Although the Club has not scheduled an official intra-club practice match for 2009, members and supporters will be able to see their team undertake a series of match simulation drills as they prepare for their AFL NAB Cup opener against St Kilda at Gold Coast Stadium on Saturday 14 February.

All fans in attendance will also be in the running to win a Lions training football personally signed by Senior Coach Michael Voss and Captain Jonathan Brown.

These Friday BBQ events will continue for each of the team’s final Friday group training sessions at Coorparoo leading up to the Lions’ Round 1 clash against West Coast at the Gabba on Saturday 28 March.

The Club looks forward to seeing a sea of maroon, blue at gold at training this Friday to help support the team ahead of their 2009 AFL Premiership campaign.
