That's the view of Fremantle captain and proud South Australian Matthew Pavlich, who revelled in the opportunity to rank the best players from his home state for this week's episode of Personal Best on AFL.com.au.
Pavlich said it was nearly impossible to separate the trio. Jarman's six-goal hauls for Adelaide in both the 1997 and 1998 Grand Finals cemented his place in the top three, while Ricciuto's 2003 Brownlow Medal triumph and all-round brilliance as a powerful midfielder also appealed greatly to Pavlich.
As for Kernahan, Pavlich was impressed that even before embarking on his 251-game career for the Blues that included 12 years as skipper and two premierships, he played 136 games for Glenelg.
Pavlich, who was drafted to Freo from Woodville-West Torrens, placed great store in players who starred in the SANFL before crossing to the VFL/AFL and for that reason, also included Craig Bradley, John Platten, Gavin Wanganeen and Tony McGuinness in his top 10.
And with the likes of Corey Enright, Andrew McKay, Tony Modra and Brad Ottens all missing out, he has compiled a mightily impressive list.
