New North Melbourne recruit Ben McKinley has returned to his best in an effort to force his way back into the AFL after a stunning six goal haul for Werribee in the VFL on Sunday.

This latest brilliant performance comes just two weeks after he kicked 5 goals and 5 behinds and will go a long way to seeing him slot back into the seniors.

Mature-age rookie Cam Pedersen was also a standout and continues to do everything right in order to gain another call-up.

With Lachie Hansen in doubt, there could be at least one spot up for grabs and the heat is well and truly on the Kangaroos' match committee in the lead up to the clash with Geelong on Saturday.

Here's how Werribee coach Paul Satterly described North's contributors in the Tigers' 47 point win over Box Hill:

"Cam Pedersen played forward for most of the day, finished with 25 disposals, 12 marks and kicked 3 goals. His workrate for the entire game was terrific."

"Ben Ross is really giving our side run and dash, linking through the corridor and with 22 possessions and 5 inside 50's, he again played a key role in our win."

"Matthew Scott's inside work was again very good and 21 disposals were all hard earned. He also picked up 5 inside 50's and 3 clearances."

"Robbie Tarrant played on promising Hawk forward Jordan Lisle and kept him to 3 goals whilst also collecting 20 disposals, 10 marks and 6 spoils. His performance enabled Pedersen to stay up forward."

"Ben McKinley complimented his 6 goals with some strong tackles and worked hard on his pressure acts which should appeal to the North coaches watching on."

"Ben Warren's 15 disposals and 9 marks came from working hard and continually presenting to the midfielders. He also kicked a goal from outside 50."

"Majak Daw had 14 possessions, 22 hit-outs, 4 tackles and kicked 1.2. Maj was very effective in the ruck against two Hawk boys who are both 204cm. Maj competed all day and was still jumping over them in the last quarter."

"Gavin Urquhart was coming off an injury interrupted game last week and was very effective on the wing and down back, continually displaying composure with the ball. North fans will be pleased he got through the game unscathed."
