St Kilda Football Club have this week officially taken ownership of their new state of the art training and administration facility, the Linen House Centre at Frankston.
With St Kilda FC President Greg Westaway receiving the keys from Andrew Briggs, Managing Director of Buxton Construction, the Club can now begin the relocation process from their current home at Linen House Oval in Moorabbin.
Administration staff will be the first to move into the Linen House Centre, with the Football Department soon to follow in early January, 2011. As pre-season training has now begun for the players, they will continue their training at Linen House Oval until the Christmas break to ensure there is no disruption to the carefully planned schedule.
Speaking at the Saints new facility today, Mr Westaway said; “The Club is extremely excited to be able to move into the brand new Linen House Centre and we look forward to embracing the City of Frankston as our new home.”
“Since it was first announced in September 2008, many people have worked tirelessly to ensure the facility would provide our Football and Administration departments with the best possible amenities to succeed as a Club from 2011 and beyond.”
“We must give great thanks to everyone involved in contributing to this fantastic project, including the Victorian State Government, Frankston City Council and AFL, as well as our naming rights partner Linen House who have been a great supporter of the Club for many years.”
An official opening reception of the Linen House Centre is planned for January 2011, once the Club has fully established itself in their new home.
Saints Locker, Membership Services, the St Kilda Heritage Museum and gaming facilities will remain at Linen House Oval in Moorabbin and continue to operate a regular service to customers.
