Richmond has formed an exciting partnership with US-based elite training academy Athletes’ Performance.

Athletes' Performance provides training, nutrition and physical therapy programs, seamlessly integrated at five facilities across America, by teams of specialists.

The partnership will provide opportunities for the Tigers’ coaches, players and staff to interact with high performance managers, strength and conditioning specialists, dieticians, sports medicine and sports science staff.

It will also continue to evolve the Club’s training programs to ensure optimal physical performance and injury prevention, allow exposure to the latest research, and develop relationships with international sporting teams.

“We are always exploring new ways to enhance our training programs and the skills of our elite performance staff, and joining with Athletes’ Performance provides a great opportunity for us,” said Richmond’s Elite Performance Manager Matthew Hornsby.

The partnership opens the door for the possibility of training camps at Athletes’ Performance facilities in Los Angeles and Phoenix, giving Richmond players the opportunity to train in elite, world-class facilities.

Staff at Athletes’ Performance will also make use of the ME Bank Centre facility to run training courses.

“We are very excited to have established a relationship with the Richmond Football Club.  We look forward to running our first Australian mentorship program from the elite training facilities at the ME Bank Centre,” said Athletes’ Performance Director of Training Systems and Education Nick Winkelman.

"We see this as a great opportunity to share education and maximise the professional development of both organisations."

Athletes’ Performance is running an intensive four-day mentorship program at the ME Bank Centre in October, for strength and conditioning professionals.  Click here to find out more.
