WERRIBEE midfielder Tom Gribble has secured the JJ Liston Trophy as the VFL's best and fairest player, winning from Western Bulldogs' father-son selection Rhylee West.
Gribble, 24, won by a whopping eight votes to finish on 25, the highest tally since Shane Valenti's win in 2011.

He averaged 30 touches, 15 contested possessions and seven clearances in his 19 games for the Tigers, who lost Saturday's semi-final to Essendon.
West came second in his first year of AFL/VFL football, polling 17 votes from 15 VFL matches for Footscray.
He also played three AFL games in rounds 19, 23 and Saturday's elimination final loss.

North Melbourne ruckman Tom Campbell came third, two votes behind West.
Campbell, a former Bulldog, joined the Roos as a rookie in the pre-season supplemental selection period.
Former Docker and Sun Michael Barlow (Werribee), AFL-listed Hawk Marc Pittonett and Port Melbourne's Shannen Lange rounded out the top vote-getters, tying for fourth.

Gribble's teammate Jake Riccardi, who was a smoky for the mid-season draft, was awarded the Fothergill-Round-Mitchell Medal as the VFL's Rising Star, while Port Melbourne's Jordan Lisle took out the 'Frosty' Miller medal for the competition's leading goalkicker.

Richmond's Craig McRae was named coach of the year, with his Tigers having lost just two games in the home and away season.
Colleague Tom Hunter was named coach of the year for the VFLW, having led Richmond's VFLW side from 12th (second-last) to fourth in one year.
Darebin and Melbourne ruck Lauren Pearce won the Lambert-Pearce medal as the VFLW's best and fairest with 18 votes.

Pearce is no relation to Melbourne superstar Daisy Pearce, who lends her name to the award.
Richmond star recruit Monique Conti (16 votes), Essendon veteran Cecilia McIntosh (14), Melbourne Uni/North Melbourne midfielder Ash Riddell (12) and Casey/Melbourne's Bianca Jakobsson (10) rounded out the top five.
Southern Saints/St Kilda's Olivia Vesely won the Debbie Lee medal as the Rising Star.
