MELBOURNE has announced the re-signing of close to a fifth of its list, with six players given contracts for 2020 and another two – Alex Neal-Bullen and Oskar Baker – on board until 2021.
Neal-Bullen, 23, was in and out of the senior side this year but still racked up 14 games, while 21-year-old Baker played nine matches after making his debut in round nine.
WHO'S HANGING UP THE BOOTS? Your club's retirements and delistings
Mid-season recruit Kyle Dunkley and small forwards Kade Chandler and Jay Lockhart have all been granted another season on the rookie list.
Dunkley played five games after joining the club in the Mid-Season Rookie Draft from VFL side Footscray.
The Wagner brothers, Josh and Corey (a rookie), will represent the red and the blue once again next year, as will versatile tall flanker Joel Smith.
Smith had a horror 2019 season, injuring his groin in a practice match and unable to play another game after suffering several setbacks throughout the year.
