AS WE start seeing some trends in the game, Fantasy Draft ownership numbers start catching up with the better performers.

There are still plenty of free agents available who could end up being season-long keepers, but coaches will need to be quick to pounce after a big performance on a weekend. Getting your bid in for the restricted free agents (RFAs) is an important job following each round.

Now is a good time to start thinking about the upcoming dual-position players (DPP) who will be rolled out ahead of round six. Brad Ebert is likely to gain FWD status. The 29-year-old appears in 86 per cent of Draft teams, so you're unlikely to find him as a free agent, but your midfield replacement may need to come from the player pool.

Some midfielders who could be in line to add either DEF or FWD status will see their Fantasy stocks rise if they gain DPP. Keeping on top of the likely candidates may help you add some extra points on field to your squad.

Defenders

Brad Sheppard, DEF, West Coast (ADP 192, 65 per cent)
The Pies let him take 13 marks, which helped him crack the Fantasy ton on Saturday night, but he is stringing together a good start to the season which has seen him score 85, 91 and 95. While he will have jobs week-to-week, Sheppard is still available as a free agent in a few leagues that would more than certainly have him as a starting defender.

Zac Jones, DEF, Sydney (ADP 247, 64 per cent)
With just 10 defenders averaging more than Jones, he is a must-roster player for all leagues. A 31-disposal game saw him score 103 against the Blues on the weekend, but he has found plenty of ball so far this year and can be relied upon to take a few marks and lay tackles to boost his score.

Lachie Weller, DEF/MID, Gold Coast (ADP 155, 56 per cent)
Weller has been dropped by some coaches, and since playing more of a defensive role in the last fortnight his Fantasy numbers have improved. 85 and 91 are the scores that those who drafted him expected, and should be his expected scores moving forward.

Midfielders

Ricky Henderson, MID, Hawthorn (ADP 135, 59 per cent)
As a wingman, Henderson is everything Fantasy coaches love. He has taken 20 marks this year and is averaging 26 disposals. The last two weeks he has scored 113 and 108, which is a decent return for many who would have had him on the bench. Henderson has shown he is a suitable starter. With availability in more than 40 per cent of leagues, look to grab him and hope he keeps up the Fantasy-friendly role where the Hawks want the ball in his hands on the outside.

Trent Dumont, MID, North Melbourne (ADP 148, 41 per cent)
Dumont was back in the side this week, and after kicking the first goal he went on to score 105. Last year the 23-year-old finished the season with 118 and 139 as he looks set for his best Fantasy return of his career.

Jack Bowes, MID, Gold Coast (ADP Nil, 24 per cent)
A lot of Draft coaches were hoping Bowes would have defender status this year, but he is listed as MID only. His numbers have shown that he should have been drafted, posting 87, 98 and 98 in the opening three rounds.

Sydney Stack, MID, Richmond (ADP Nil, 4 per cent)
For coaches in deeper leagues, it is worth putting a claim in for first-gamer Stack. He spent most of the game playing off the wing, with some stints in defence. While we shouldn't expect a score of 89 each week, if players such as Sam Walsh and Charlie Constable are on rosters, Stack should be considered if there are minimal midfielders left as free agents.

Jackson Thurlow, MID, Sydney (ADP Nil, 3 per cent)
If you're hanging out for a defender to fill a void, then Thurlow could be your man if he gains DEF status ahead of round six. He scored 74 in his Swans debut and should improve his numbers as the season rolls on.

Forwards

Caleb Daniel, FWD, Western Bulldogs (ADP 196, 57 per cent)
The 168cm pocket rocket has found a new role in defence. In the last two weeks he has racked up 32 and 24 disposals for 98 and 96 points. The potential of dual-position status makes his value increase to come off the bench and play when required.

Tom Papley, FWD, Sydney (ADP 250, 44 per cent)
It could be some hit and miss with Papley, but consider him as a streaming option against the lesser teams. In round one he scored 92 against the Bulldogs and 93 on the weekend versus the Blues. Bench him when he might have a job tagging as he did in round two when he tried to shutdown Brad Crouch. Papley scored 66.

Sam Petrevski-Seton, FWD, Carlton (ADP 259, 31 per cent)
Consistency is an underrated aspect to a player's Fantasy game. SPS has scored 81, 81 and 80 in his first three matches. Last year 32 players with FWD status averaged more than 80 for the season.

Connor Rozee, DEF/FWD, Port Adelaide (ADP Nil, 30 per cent)
Not a lot of draftees end up on Fantasy Draft lists, but he deserves a spot on your bench at the very least. It took five goals to help him bust out a score of 121 against the Lions, however, he is locked in the Power side and will continue to improve. The No.5 pick in last year's draft is likely to be some handy trade bait in your league if there is a Port Adelaide supporter keen to have one of their young guns in their squad.
