REIGNING premier West Coast faces a difficult battle to get its flag defence back on track with livewire Willie Rioli and big man Nathan Vardy both accepting one-game bans.
In the second term of the loss to Sydney on Sunday, Rioli wrapped up Colin O'Riordan in a tackle that saw the Swan concussed and ruled out of the clash.
Rioli was charged with engaging in rough conduct for his dangerous tackle.

Vardy was also considered to have engaged in rough conduct on backman Jackson Thurlow, who missed the second half of the Swans' upset victory.
Match Review Officer Michael Christian assessed both incidents as careless conduct, medium impact and high contact.
Rioli, 24, missed the first two months of the season as he battled a foot stress fracture.
He has recorded at least one goal in each of his four games this year.

After losing by 45 points to Sydney, the Eagles have a bye before taking on Essendon at Optus Stadium on Thursday, June 20 and hope to have captain Shannon Hurn (hamstring) and dual club champion Elliot Yeo (calf) available for that clash.
From North Melbourne's win over Gold Coast on Saturday night, Wil Powell, Jack Martin and Cameron Zurhaar have accepted $1000 fines for engaging in a third-quarter melee.
Meanwhile, Martin's match-day report for his attack on the contest that saw Jack Ziebell undergo a half-time concussion test has been thrown out.
Christian's view was Martin was "contesting the ball and had no realistic alternative way to contest the ball", according to a statement from the AFL.

Also assessed from that game was Touk Miller's early tackle on Roos star Shaun Higgins that left him with a right shoulder injury.
Christian's belief was Miller's tackle was "not unreasonable in the circumstances".
