THE AFL has admitted to a second mistake with its score review process in round 11.
West Coast's Oscar Allen kicked a goal against the Western Bulldogs, which was reviewed to see if it was touched in the goalsquare.
It was awarded a goal, but extra broadcast footage showing Dog Marcus Bontempelli got a fingertip to the kick when attempting to smother it was not reviewed.
BARRETT Time to review the score review
"The AFL wishes to advise the goal awarded to West Coast Eagles player Oscar Allen in the third quarter of the round 11 match between the West Coast Eagles and the Western Bulldogs at Optus Stadium has been reviewed," the AFL statement said.
"The score review official reviewed goal-line vision for a potential touch in the goalsquare, but did not follow the procedure to review vision for a potential touch off the boot.
"The AFL acknowledges that had the score review official followed the correct process, there was vision available to show a touch off the boot by Western Bulldogs player Marcus Bontempelli.
"The AFL will continue to educate all score review officials to maximise the effectiveness of the score review system."
'TECHNICAL REASONS' AFL concedes crucial Walters goal was a mistake
An earlier mistake with the score review process came in Fremantle's last-gasp win over Collingwood, when Chris Mayne's touch on Michael Walters' goal in the third quarter was not picked up.

The AFL has previously said the official in question did not have access to the particular piece of footage that showed Mayne's touch due to "technical reasons".
In similar circumstances, the official looked at footage to see if the ball was touched by Steele Sidebottom as it was going over the goal-line, and cleared it accordingly.
