EMERGING Fremantle midfielder Darcy Tucker has re-signed for another two seasons.
The Victorian is contracted until the end of 2021.
AFL.com.au reported earlier this month the 22-year-old was close to penning a new deal.
It's a huge boon for Freo, which is undergoing a tumultuous time after the sensational departures of Ross Lyon as coach and Steve Rosich as chief executive officer.
Star wingman Bradley Hill, who could soon win his second Dockers best and fairest award, has sought to leave the club after St Kilda offered him a mega-deal.
Ed Langdon is another whose future is uncertain as he mulls over a return home to Victoria.
Those potential departures make the recommitment of Tucker more significant. He lined up in every match in 2019 to take his career tally to 70, and averaged 19 disposals.
"I'm really enjoying it. It's my fourth year here and Perth is like a big country town for me," Tucker told fremantlefc.com.au.
"It's nice weather and nice and chilled. My girlfriend is over here and I've just built a house, so we can't wait to get in there and get really settled.
"We've seen that we can play some really good footy.
"We have an exciting young group coming up and I think we can play finals footy in the very near future, so I'm looking forward to it."
FINALS PREDICTOR Who will win the 2019 premiership?
Dockers list manager Mark Micallef predicted Tucker to improve once again.
"Darcy's been an outstanding contributor for us this season and we're very excited to have him on board for a further two years," Micallef said.
"He has shown great durability, playing 22 games this year, and we see further development in his game in the future."
